Press conference on the launch of import of Russian wines to Belgium

   On 17 December the company State2state held a press conference dedicated to the launch of the import of Russian wines to the Kingdom of Belgium. The conference was organized with the support of the Russian Embassy in Belgium, the Trade Representation in Belgium and the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office. The event was attended by representatives of the Belgian and Russian media, the community of sommeliers and Russian compatriots.

   Russian Ambassador to Belgium Alexander Tokovinin addressed the guests with a welcoming speech. He expressed the support to the project and welcomed the desire of Belgians to intensify cooperation in new directions. According to him, now locals will be able to taste Russian wine which will allow them to better understand modern Russia. For his part, the head of the Trade Representation of Russia Anatoly Gorshkov noted the traditions of Russian winemaking and expressed the hope that these shipments will open a new page in the history of the import of Russian wines to Europe.

Dmitry Bonte, the head of Start2taste, spoke about the history of the company, the inception of the idea of importing wines from Russia and held the presentation on the wines of Krasnodar Territory. He noted that the Russian region is located at the same latitude as Bordeaux in France, famous for its wines. The businessman emphasized that there are many people among his clients who are interested in tasting something new. He expressed his confidence that they will definitely like Russian wine.

The Belgian company Start2taste, founded in 2011, supplies wines to Belgian shops and restaurants and engages in retail trade. In November the company delivered almost 6 thousand bottles of red, wine and sparkling wines from 5 Russian wineries. The customers of a wine boutique Start2taste, located in Warengem, can buy more than 30 wines from our country.
