On May 9, a traditional wreath laying ceremony at the foot of the monuments to the Soviet citizens who died for the liberation of Belgium and Belgian citizens, members of the Resistance, took place at the Brussels cemetery in Evere . This year, taking into account the restrictions imposed on holding mass events, the ceremony was reduced. It was attended by Alexander Tokovinin, Ambassador of Russia to Belgium, Vladimir Chizhov, Permanent Representative of Russia to the EU, Yuri Gorlach, Acting Permanent Representative of Russia to NATO, as well as by the Archbishop of Brussels and Belgium Simon (Ishunin).
